Dementia Oxfordshire Summer Information Fair, Wednesday 29th July 2026 : Wed 29 Jul 10:30 |

|
PCSOs Drury, Beaumont and Wilson-Gregory will be running an information stall at the Dementia UK Summer Information Fair, to be held at Bicester Methodist Church, Sheep Street. Bicester this Wednesday (29th July 2026), between 10.30am and 2pm.
The event will be attended by various local community support organisations, who can offer support and advice in relation to the changing needs of people in later life.
We will be on hand to offer advice to carers and family members of people living with dementia about the Herbert Protocol. People with dementia sometimes become lost, as the condition can affect parts of the brain used for memory, navigation and problem-solving.
If you care for someone affected in this way, it's a good idea to fill out a Herbert Protocol form in advance. The form is used to help the police if the person goes missing. It may include information such as places where they used to live, or places where they socialised or worked.
Keeping a completed form means you don't have to try to remember the information when you are under stress if someone goes missing. And it saves time, so we can start the search sooner.
You can find out more about the scheme and fill out an online version of the form at https://herbertprotocol.com. We will have paper copies of the form to give out at the event.
The information fair is free to attend and refreshments are provided. Don't forget to bring some loose change though, as a raffle and a tombola with prizes will be held - all donations and money raised from the day goes straight back into Dementia Oxfordshire to fund their support services. | ||
